The Hop is constantly monitoring the situation surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and is working closely with City, State and Federal officials to ensure we employ best practices regarding the cleaning of our vehicles and the safety of our staff and riders.

With the passage of the MKE Cares ordinance, masks or face coverings are now required on board the streetcar. This is the most important thing our passengers can do to keep The Hop safe. We’re also doing our part through promoting social-distancing on board the vehicles and executing a rigorous cleaning protocol that includes twice-daily sanitization of all streetcars and station platforms. In addition, all surfaces of our vehicles, stations and maintenance spaces, including the hand straps, seats and boarding doors, have been treated with an anti-microbial protective coating to minimize the potential for the virus to spread.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, The Hop is currently operating on a reduced schedule providing service every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The current schedule can be viewed here.
